! The Solid Butcherblock tops used by BenchPro™ are made from 1-3/4" thick strips of genuine Hardwood. To prevent warpage and splitting, the wood is died in a low-heat atmosphere for almost one year before it is cut into strips and glued edge to edge. The hardwood strips vary in width, so that some strips are single and some strips are double wide. This gives the tops added strength while reducing the possibility of the top splitting along its seams.

! We generally stock over 500 Butcherblock tops, ready for assembly. We receive unfinished tops in truckload quantities direct from the mill. We first size and sand them, then round the edges, and then surface them in either an oiled or lacquered finish. (While lacquer finished tops have a nicer appearance for offices, the less expensive oiled finish is generally best for production and high use areas, as they can be resurfaced easily, and minor damage does not affect their appearance).
